Purpose
The Tax Department is responsible for oversight of Corbis’ tax obligations, including administration of worldwide tax compliance, ERP system administration (as it relates to taxation), strategic planning, transfer pricing and all other tax related functions. The primary role of this Tax Manager role will be to oversee domestic tax compliance, including preparation of all federal and state income & franchise tax returns, calculation of estimated tax payments, responding to notices from tax offices, etc.
Role
The Tax Manager will be charged with the oversight of domestic tax compliance and planning, including return preparation, response to notices from tax authorities, tax audit support, etc. Given Corbis’ global footprint, this person will need a solid understanding of US international tax issues and as well as strong S-Corporation fundamentals.
This person will also be charged with ensuring that Corbis is compliant with global withholding tax reporting. He / she will serve as a resource to the accounts payable and royalty accounting teams and be available to answer questions and provide guidance on withholding tax administration, what constitutes a valid income tax treaty claims, etc. A major project that we will assign to this person will be to supervise the review of prior contributor treaty claims and to assist contributors in correcting invalid claims.
He / she may also be asked to assist with a wide variety of tax planning & research projects and to help develop tax recommendations. Given the nature this role, the planning strategies will be predominately US in nature, but will need to take international tax objectives and concepts into account.
Other roles that the position will fill include:
· Coordinate the preparation of foreign country returns with outside service providers,
· Assist with monitoring intercompany charges for royalties and services as well as in preparing the required annual transfer pricing studies,
· Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing reports,
· Complete ad hoc planning and projects,
· Advise on the tax requirements for ERP systems and provide assistance with implementation of such systems.
Requirements
5-8 Years of Tax Related Experience
Good understanding of International Tax concepts, especially as it relates to compliance,
Bachelors Degree in Accounting—Masters in Tax Preferred
CPA Preferred
