JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Manager in our Business Valuation group, you will be responsible for conducting valuation engagements of businesses, intangible assets, stock, LLCs, FLPs or other entities. The majority of the assignments are related to fair value measurements and tax valuations (fair market value). The practice is not currently focused in the areas of ESOPs or litigation support. This position is located in Seattle, WA and reports to the Financial Advisory Services Consulting Line Leader of the Western Regional Consulting Group. In addition, this position's responsibilities include the following:
* Scopes prospective projects, prepares engagement letters, manages budgets, and prepares client billings.
* Interacts with other functional areas of the practice including audit, tax and personal wealth management.
* Selects appropriate business valuation techniques. Makes sound value conclusions. Prepares well-written reports in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and Statement of Standards on Valuation Services No. 1.
* Pursues opportunities for follow-on client work.
* Develops and maintains strong business relationships with clients served and referral sources.
* Develops an association with outside sources of new business, especially with other large accounting firms and attorneys.
* Supervises and provides timely performance feedback to team members.
* Represents the Firm in community activities and professional associations.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelors degree with emphasis in Finance or Accounting.
* 5-10 years experience directing and coordinating activities of valuation projects.
* Proficiency with FAS 141R, 142, 123R and intangible asset valuations.
* Competence with tax valuations.
* Technical proficiency and expertise in accounting standards related to fair value. issues.
* ASA and/or ABV accreditation.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Executive presence in order to deal effectively with Partners, clients, attorneys, the IRS, etc., for the purpose of both developing and executing business in a collaborative, team environment.
* Prior work experience with a large (top 6) accounting firm.
* CPA certification
