JOB SUMMARY:
Facilitates incoming and outgoing communications for Pacific Medical Centers and clients of the Pacific Medical Centers; provides efficient, accurate and effective customer-focused communication services, registration and appointment services. Performs full registration and obtains insurance information via telephone. Works collaboratively with the back office teams through the CSM messaging system to ensure patient needs are relayed in a timely manner. Ensures phone communication provides an exceptional patient experience. Clinic positions may perform check-in duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong customer service disposition.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred
• Two years work experience.
• Six months recent telephone experience, handling calls in a complex environment.
• Healthcare background.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to type 40 wpm with better than average accuracy.
• Proficient in the use of a PC and working in a windows environment.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills; team player.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual preferred, fluency with written and spoken English required.
• Ability to remain calm under stress, exercising good judgment, performing appropriate triages in emergency situations and setting priorities independently.
• Mature personality with sound problem solving and customer service skills.
• Understands the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality in a medical setting.
• Able to work in a culturally diverse environment.
• Ability to perform full registration on new patients efficiently in a high–stress situation
• Ability to guide callers in where to look for insurance information on an insurance card over the telephone.
• Ability to enter insurance and other information accurately into computer system.
• Ability to perform other jobs in addition to answering high call volume.
