Renton School District IKEA Performing Arts Center is currently accepting applications for the position of
House Manager. The function of the house manager is to oversee the set up and safety of the lobby, box
office, concessions, and green room during performances and meetings. All house manager schedules
are intermittent (on call) and there is no guarantee of minimum hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Turns on lights, and unlocks doors.
2. Assists rental clients in the lobby during their events, including moving tables and other
objects.
3. Oversees the box office, volunteers, and concessions during shows.
4. Works with the technical staff to start all events on time.
5. Incident response for any accidents or health concerns in the audience or lobby.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Must be at least 18 years old.
2. Two or more years supervisory experience.
3. Ability to work on feet for a minimum of four hours.
4. Ability to climb stairs.
5. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
6. CPR/First Aid training, including AED training.
7. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
8. Exceptional customer service skills.
9. High attention to detail.
10. Trouble shooting skills to assist rental clients in creative solutions.
11. Ability to work effectively without supervision.
12. Ability to patiently work with groups of all ages.
13. Ability to act quickly in emergencies and supervise the scene until medical professionals
arrive.
