GENERAL SUMMARY: To maintain a safe and clean environment for the residents,
their families, and the CRISTA employees that we serve; routine duties include
cleaning, disposing of trash, and supplying; entry level position.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

job)
1. Daily cleaning, disinfecting, trash emptying, and supplying of patient rooms,
resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, Environmental Specialist closets,
equipment; in compliance with procedures and instructions given by Environmental
Supervisor.
2. Properly clean up of human waste and other body fluids.
3. Handling of various cleaning chemicals in a safe and effective manner.
4. Monitor assigned areas and perform additional work to clean, disinfect, and make
safe anything needing to be done.
5. Report anything unsafe, unclean, or broken to Environmental Supervisor that you
can not take care of.
6. Be flexible and able to determine (when faced with more than one thing to do at a
time) what is more important.
7. Take proper care and use of equipment.
8. Perform any other housekeeping tasks that may be assigned, in a cooperative
manner.
9. Attend meetings, classes and receive training as assigned by Environmental
Supervisor.
10. Observe Residents’ Rights Policies at all times.
11. Come to work as scheduled and demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
12. Follow procedures outlined in the employee’s handbook.
13. Use ladders when required, in a safe manner.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

5. Other Considerations: This position requires the ability to stand for much of
the time, move freely about our entire facility, and lift up to 50 pounds. They
must be able to perform a full range of physical abilities throughout the day
which may include; stooping, kneeling, pushing/pulling, stretching, grasping,
climbing, and crawling.
The successful candidate will be able to speak, read, write at a functional level,
and comprehend spoken and written communications in the workplace (i.e.:
read and comprehend usage instructions for cleaning products, verbally
communicate with clarity, while understanding and explaining information to
our residents.
The use of cleaning equipment and products requires excellent eye/hand
coordination, ability to operate equipment and the ability to handle multiple
priorities ant the same time.
Must be able to interact with a wide variety of people, particularly the elderly
and their family members.
Must also have the ability to problem solve, and work independently.
