Position Description
Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the President of Vivacity, the Wellness Reporting Consultant assumes responsibility for the design, creation, implementation and management of analytic and evaluative projects which measure or quantify the impact or effectiveness of wellness programs. Vivacity is a new business focused on building a full suite of integrated products for employers related to wellness programs. The Wellness Reporting Consultant is an individual that is familiar with healthcare data and knowledgeable with data extraction tools and using that information for employer wellness program design and reporting. This position requires a strategic thinker with a thorough understanding of the technical reporting systems that will aid in meeting the needs of the client. This person should be able to communicate effectively with external customers as well as with all departments at Premera. This person will participate in direct consultations with brokers and employer groups.
Job Summary:
1. Design and lead the creation, implementation and evaluation of wellness programs by designing, measuring and monitoring clinical process and outcomes measures, and establishing performance goals and standards.
2. Perform complex data extractions and manipulations, which culminate in the design and production of ad-hoc analysis and reports for external clients and internal management.
3. Interpret needs and specifications in creating analytical reports which fulfill Vivacity strategic initiatives as well as obligations to employer groups or as requested by management.
4. Design reports; synthesize results, using strategic, analytical or statistical methodology, for a variety of uses including utilization, cost containment, quality improvement, productivity improvements and addressing identified issues.
5. Under the direction of Vivacity management, and Premera Actionable Analytics management, provide consultation to program owners in their oversight of external programs or vendors to assure accurate and timely implementation of reporting, analytic, or evaluation components vital to Vivacity programs.
6. Provide administration or project management of analytic work falling under the department’s purview as needed.
7. Analyze, reconcile, and provide evaluation on extracted data, including data anomalies.
8. Ability to understand content of financial monitoring reports as the information relates to employer groups.
9. Ability to use automated analytical tools for ad hoc queries of data or pricing quotes.
10. Fosters effective working relationships with vendors and key internal business partners across the organization.
11. Expert in privacy regulations and the handling of healthcare data.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Masters Degree in quantitative, Healthcare, or computer sciences degree such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, CIS, or equivalent experience.
2. Experience and knowledge in developing new tools, methodologies and analytics in support of new business enterprise; detailed knowledge of HR systems, wellness programs in an employer setting, and/or experience analyzing/using employer data for wellness program design are a plus.
3. Seven years of analysis and/or program evaluation experience; health plan or healthcare delivery system environment preferred.
4. Proven experience with a reporting or query programming language, and/or related statistical software packages.
5. Expertise in evaluating alternative methodologies, competitor products, supporting vendor applications (e.g. IBI), software solutions, etc.
6. Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with a variety of audiences and to understand client needs as defined by project requirements.
7. Extensive experience with advanced analytic features of Excel and/or statistical software, such as SAS and/or SQL.
8. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
9. Familiar with healthcare insurance concepts and terms.
10. Proven experience managing and modeling large data sets.
11. Demonstrated ability to interpret healthcare data and effectively present highly sophisticated analysis and findings to both subject matter experts and lay audiences.
12. Capable of working independently to identify creative and innovative solutions for the wellness marketplace with the ability to proactively seek out new solutions in support of the business enterprise needs.
13. Ability to travel; overnight on occasion.
