Overview:

 


Works at the campus under limited supervision, responsible for generating prospective students for enrollment in DeVry's academic programs; contacts high school students, by telephone, to obtain their approval to start the interview/enrollment process; responsible for all phases of the student admissions process from marketing the program with students to qualifying them for enrollment in a DeVry education.


 




Responsibilities:

 


1. Obtains expressions of interest from prospective students and arranges for interviews with them and their parents at campus or over the phone for the purpose of gaining their commitment to matriculate at DeVry University.


 


2. Conducts at least 10 hours a week of telephone calls to locate, screen and motivate prospective applicants (and their parents) and schedule a personal interview.


 


3. Conducts personal interviews to qualify candidates and to explain DeVry's academic programs and advises what they need to do in order to meet DeVry's admission requirements.


           


4. Uses all marketing and recruiting tools to get the DeVry story in front of all prospects.


 


5. Effectively addresses students' concerns to ensure that all prospects receive the full DeVry story and are aware of their career opportunities.


 


6. Carefully assesses all prospective students to ensure that they have the student potential, traits, characteristics, and financial wherewithal to stay-the-course and remain enrolled until graduation.


 


7. Studies course prerequisites, degree equivalents and accreditation of schools and computes grade point averages to establish students' qualifications for admission.


 


8. Completes the student enrollment process by obtaining the application fee, the completed student application form and, provided that the student qualifies, accepts the student for enrollment at DeVry University.


 


9. Ensures that satisfactory enrollment agreements are completed with each enrolled student in respect to proof of education, test scores, transferable courses and other enrollment variables that may prohibit the students' enrollments.


 


10. Fully understands DeVry's financing sources to be able to convey basic program eligibility requirements; refers students to financial aid department so that financial aid can be considered and be available when needed.


 


11. Solicits referrals from prospective candidates to provide a positive flow of student applicants; diligently follows all leads in order to fill PD quotas and lead workage percentages.


 


12. Knows the importance of the student start rate goals for each term and uses effort, ingenuity and resourcefulness in meeting the Department of Enrollment Management's student enrollment objectives.


 


13. Utilizes competent administrative skills by getting enrollment tasks done on time and within budget; maintains Department of Enrollment Management records and completes all standard reports and adhoc reports, when needed, on time.


 


14. Commits the time, work effort and job skills to achieve the enrollment goals and objectives for each school term (semester).


 


15. Handles related duties as assigned.


 


16. Adheres to laws and regulations governing student recruitment activities as well as the DeVry Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills




  1. Bachelor's degree and sales experience strongly preferred.



  2. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently at a campus location or out of the home.



  3. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required. 



  4. Must be intelligent and must have persuasive skills and must understand and properly interpret human behavior. 



  5. Must have quality voice and pronunciation skills to be able to speak well and be clearly understood. 



  6. Must be a competent administrator and a self-starter and have the ability to work with little supervision. 



  7. Must be a team player, willing to share and exchange. 



  8. Must have the ability to make ethical decisions, doing what is always best for the students as well as the Company.
