Job Summary/Basic Function:
|
Reports to the Dean of Health Sciences & Public Safety. Duties are to provide instruction in a variety of teaching situations, including traditional, online, hybrid, and clinical settings. Assignments include instruction for a range of administrative, clinical, and interdisciplinary courses that support specific programs, such as Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy, as well as general Health Sciences courses. Performs all duties in accordance with the faculty contract and college policy. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English with our community partners and other professionals, and must be able to effectively interact with staff, students, colleagues, and administrators at the college and in the clinical arena. Opportunities exist for flexible schedules and compensated professional development.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
1) Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse or Associates degree in Medical or closely related field.
2) Two years of work experience in a medical office.
3) Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for, effectively instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion.

Preferred Qualifications:
|
1) Teaching experience in educational or business environment.
2) Experience with Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
3) On-line or distance education teaching experience.
4) Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, Allied Health, or related field.
5) Progression of experience in the medical office field.
6) Experience in curriculum development.
