Job Description:

Provides direct support to the Vice President of Operations.  Has responsibility for the identification of potential Civil Infrastructure type projects and the estimation and bidding of these projects. Will serve as a project manager for the construction of Civil Infrastructure projects.  Mentors and trains staff.  Evaluates projects for effective utilization of resources.  Suggests and implements changes to effectively use resources.  Proactively evaluates all levels of risk and acts to reduce risk.  Performs all other duties as assigned.

Examples of the types of projects this position may focus on include, but are not limited to – Water Treatment Plants; Wastewater Treatment Plants; Lift stations; Reservoirs; Fish hatcheries; Wiers; Head works; Electrical substations; Bridges; etc…

1.0    Essential Job Duties of the Civil Infrastructure Project Manager

1.1    Serves as the primary contact between owner and contractor.
1.2    Projects staffing for key field positions
1.3    Serves as the primary Civil Infrastructure estimator including self performed work in concrete, yard and other piping and equipment.
1.4    Identifies and proactively acts to reduce the risks associated with Site Staffing, Equipment Utilization, Labor and Non-Labor issues.
1.5    On a continual basis, keeps the Management Team informed of project status or field concerns.
1.6    Provides a mentoring relationship for staff.
1.7    Continually works with Business Development and Marketing to promote Lydig and sell our services.
1.8    Verbally or in writing, consistently and professionally communicates with building owners to enhance their confidence in Lydig Construction.
1.9    Promotes and provides exemplary customer service.


2.0    Other Duties

2.1    Performs all other duties as assigned.


Employment Standards

Education    A minimum of Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.

Experience    A minimum of 7 years of experience directly related to Treatment Plant facilities.  Experience in the Northwest United States preferred.
Skills:    Must be able to establish rapport and maintain effective management of staff.  Verifiable past experience in estimating and successful management of civil infrastructure construction projects.

Physical Abilities:    Must be able to operate a computer, telephone and other standard office machines.  Must be able to visit various job sites including active construction sites.  Must be able to climb ladders and stand for several hours at a time.  Vision must be adequate to evaluate working conditions and read detailed documents.  Must be able to drive a vehicle.  Must be able to lift and carry 40# on an occasional basis.

Certifications:   
A current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as defined by our insurance company.

Travel:     Frequent overnight travel of several days’ duration is required.
