Manage projects in support of the overall plant objectives. Deliver measurable results on schedule and on budget.
Create production FMEA’s to drive Control Plan development
Review engineering designs for new and existing products for feasibility. Work with design engineering to ensure that the design can be sourced or manufactured in a timely and cost effective manner.
Design and validation of fixtures, tooling, methods of work holding, and methods transportation as required for the product. Oversee the procurement and manufacture of said items.
Update the manufacturing documentation such as routings, programs, and other documents as controlled by the Manufacturing Engineering.
Assists in trouble shooting to determine root cause and formulate appropriate corrective action.
Ensure assembly and machining processes are capable and stable.
Participate in cross functional teams through the discovery, development, and deployment of lean and six sigma practice and principles on the shop floor.
Identify and justify capital equipment as required for the manufacture of the product.
Five years experienced in a heavy manufacturing environment required.
Ability to update drawings using Solid Edge, Unigraphics, and AutoCAD desirable.
Knowledge of materials, metals and the heat treatment of metals required.
Experience in machining and/or welding technology a plus.
Demonstrated abilities in tool, fixture and gage design.
Two years experience in the general machining of metals required.
Strong leadership and project management skills.
Must work well in a team environment. Must work well across functional lines. Must be comfortable working closely with both the design team and with shop floor personnel.
Must be a self-starter with high initiative and the ability to work with little supervision.
Strong computer skills in a MS-Windows environment.
