Pioneer operates a number of profitable businesses such as precision sheet-metal, aerospace machining, construction, low-income housing, institutional food services and retail cafes. Currently we are seeking a Director for our Food Service Unit. Pioneer Food Service operates a high quality institutional kitchen serving hospitals, extended care facilities, day nutrition centers and work releases in King County. We also operate two retail units serving customers in Seattle and Bellevue. We are looking for a candidate who is a quick thinker and who can initiate and implement change in an effective manner. The successful candidate will also be able to motivate employees and develop a team environment.
The Director will be responsible to effectively plan, direct and manage all food service activities of Pioneer's Enterprise Group. Assure efficient and economical production, high standards of quality, sanitation, and safety and that scheduled customer commitments are met. Operate to achieve forecast and budget goals. Recommend actions to expand food services through acquisitions, addition of new services or reformatting of existing. Foster an environment of teamwork, accountability, learning and personal growth. Develop and implement clear, efficient processes to ensure consistency and efficiency in the delivery of service. Ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve food service issues and implement corrective actions as required. Coordinate and direct major projects (i.e. expansions of facilities, acquisition and installation of capital equipment, facility layout changes). Build and implement programs and activities essential to food service operations, including safety, training and staff development. Plan and determine the organizational structure of the Food Service Unit.

Education & Experience Required
Education and experience required includes ten years of experience in the restaurant and food service environment, including at least five years in supervisory, operational, and managerial positions. Must have formal training in dietary and nutritional analysis. A degree in a culinary program may substitute for some experience.
