Job Description:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:    The Food & Nutrition substitute will work in various locations assigned throughout the Everett Public School District.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 
  • Knowledge of proper food storage, handling and preparation techniques, including accurate weighing, counting and measuring, and temperatures.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation processes and procedures as they relate to food handling, preparation and storage. Skills in maintaining safe and sanitary working conditions.
  • Skills in following written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals in a multi-cultural environment; practice established health and safety precautions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in an atmosphere where interruptions occur frequently.
  • Ability to work under supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Prepare, weigh and assemble food items according to instructions.
  • Prepare food service area for meal periods; set out serving ware; fill condiment containers.
  • Serve food according to established portions and procedures.
  • Operate and maintain food preparation equipment and utensils to prepare menu items.
  • Assemble and wrap food; weigh and measure leftover food; store appropriately.
  • Load dishwasher; wash utensils, pots and pans; wipe counters and kitchen appliances; clean and sanitize work surfaces; clean dishwasher and filters.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:   Washington State driver's license or evidence of mobility; valid Washington State food handler's permit; HIV/Hepatitis certification.
 
SALARY:  $11.56/hour; per the 2009-2010 Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Salary Schedule
Effective Year/Work Hours   Hours of work are generally performed between 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
