Manager of Benefits and Retirement - Human Resources Benefits This is a regular, salaried, 8 hour, day shift position, 1.00 FTE, 40 hours per week. This position is eligible for our full suite of employee benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, generous 401 (k) plan, and tuition reimbursement. Salary Scale: Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience. The salary scale is reviewed on an annual basis for market comparison and may change with the market. |

Responsibilities |
|
Responsible for management of health and welfare, retirement and savings benefit functions. Oversees the design and implementation of new or changed health and welfare benefit plans. Works with key stakeholders to elicit input, suggestions or ideas on benefit plan design and administration. Develops and monitors annual benefits budget. Oversees maintenance, review and revisions to retirement and savings plans. Manages plan audits, oversees preparation and implementation of plan amendments, and directs preparation of plan reporting and all required filings. Provides timely information to assist Human Resources staff, Finance, managers and sr. leadership in meeting their departmental and/or organizational goals. Supervises 3-5 Benefits employees. Sets goals for the Benefits and Retirement functions. Ensures staff provides efficient and courteous service to internal and external customers. Develops and utilizes systems and protocols to efficiently and effectively manage benefits data. |

Qualifications |
|
Baccalaureate Degree in human resources, business administration or position-related field required. Masters degree in human resources, business, or hospital administration is preferred. Professional certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society for Human Resource Management preferred 8 years progressive experience in Human Resources with focus on benefits, retirement plan administration, employee relations and HR systems preferred. 4 years experience managing staff. Must have working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulatory issues governing the design and administration of qualified plans including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA and IRS. Demonstrated skills in project management, process improvement, and developing and implementing various human resources strategies. Responsible for promoting a culture of service excellence with staff for both internal and external customers. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and managers. Skilled at participating in and leading cross-functional teams. Ability to establish strong vendor relationships, monitor vendor outcomes and develop solutions for vendor issues. Plans and oversees Benefits and Retirement budget under Director’s supervision. Healthcare experience preferred. Demonstrated track record as results driven and action-oriented professional. Must have strong organizational skills to manage to fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to develop and deliver presentations to large groups and sr. leaders using audio-visual aids. Knowledge of Microsoft office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using HR systems (PeopleSoft preferred). |
