Position Description
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for leading a global team of HR professionals to design human resource strategies and programs, and deliver these to client groups within Expedia, Inc., with the overall goal of attracting, retaining and developing the best talent for the company. This role will also interface with key company executives and assist with workforce planning and employee programs & initiatives. The position reports to the Executive Vice President, Human Resources.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Participates in the development of the business group’s plans and programs as a strategic partner, but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.
Leads a team of HR partners to translate strategic and tactical business plans and issues into HR strategies and programs.
Works closely with the HR Directors and Managers of HR shared services (Recruiting, Benefits, HRIS, Compensation, and Learning & Development) to ensure that the businesses receive the necessary services, support, and communications from those centralized HR groups.
Ensure consistency, leverage and application of best HR practices throughout Expedia, Inc., where appropriate, yet recognize each division and company’s unique needs and work with the appropriate HR Director and HR shared services team(s) to tailor HR practices to the division.
Oversee the performance review and compensation process for the business groups, so that employees receive the feedback, motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.
Develop human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps.
Areas of activity will include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and leadership positions, training and development programs for preparing employees for more significant responsibilities and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge, understanding of the business, and the industry.
Continually assess the competitiveness and effectiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
Identify HR trends across the business groups and proactively design programs to address these trends.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of human resource management experience
A breadth of knowledge in the areas of organizational development, change management, employee relations and leadership development.
A demonstrated ability to drive human resource strategies and programs in a complex environment at the most senior level of the company.
Experience in a fast changing environment.
Remote management experience preferred.
Experience managing other managers.
Bachelors degree in human resources, business or related field is required.
Masters degree and PHR or SPHR certification is strongly desired.
