Senior Procurement Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provides management and direction for all procurement functions on large domestic or international projects, including purchasing of materials, equipment and services, vendor and subcontractor negotiations, expediting, supplier data control, supplier quality, logistics and traffic.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews work produced by subordinates and/or other team members to ensure that internal policies, applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed, and that quality of procured items meets or exceeds requirements. Monitors the productivity and technical proficiency of the assigned personnel. Make staffing assignments and reassignments as Company and project needs dictate. Monitors staffing requirements and expenditures within budget constraints.
Coordinates procurement activities with clients, project management, and other departments within the Company.
Actively participates in the Company's Quality Improvement Process. Promotes technical excellence in all employees.
Participates in establishing and maintaining Procurement Department polices and procedures, working closely with upper management. Ensures compliance with the Company's business ethics policy and with the Conflict of Interest Policy. Offers training in these policies, as needed, to the assigned procurement personnel.
Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, recommends promotions and salary actions, and offers training and development for the assigned personnel.
Completes special assignments for the Department Manager - Procurement. Participates in preparing proposals.
