 JOB SUMMARY: 


 


This position serves as a key management associate at their work location and directly supports the General Manager. Provides short and long term planning, employment of resources, budgeting and expenses and implementation of operational policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


 


• Assists General Manager with short and long-term planning, employment of resources, budgeting and expenses, implementation of operational policies & systems

• Reviews overages, shortages and manual backorders with appropriate operations managers in order to maintain inventory accuracy.

• Ensure stores are supplied with ordered merchandise in a timely and efficient manner

• Manages and monitors compliance with merchandise damage minimization efforts in order to ensure proper handling of merchandise.

• Assists General Manager with staff hiring, orientation, training, performance evaluation, pay increases determination, associate development efforts for the distribution center.

• Establishes productivity and quality goals and ensures these goals are adhered to.

• Monitors, evaluates, assesses, manages, develops and revises key productivity indicators-such as financial, productivity, service and people goals in order to reduce and control costs.

• Assists the general manager with special projects, such as process improvement teams and identification of best practices recommendation and implementation.

• Shares and provides appropriate information and anticipates information needs of all distribution center associates in accordance with company quality and communication time schedule requirements.

• Addresses immediately inappropriate behaviors, unethical activity or conflict of interest.

• Conducts quality, accuracy and housekeeping evaluations to ensure adherence to company standards.

• Ensures a clean, safe, and accident free working environment with a focus on quality and accuracy

• Oversees and monitors engineering and transportation functions


 


 


SKILLS/EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


 


Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of eight year’s distribution center management, operations experience or equivalent.
Experience in large distribution facility required (1m sq.ft.+, 200+ associates)


Strong knowledge of distribution center practices and procedures
Strong leadership, administrative, organizational, managerial and communication skills
Strong analytical ability to gather and interpret information, and develop, recommend and implement solutions


Strong financial acumen
