Position Description
Expedia’s Media Solutions team is looking for an entrepreneurial, creative and quality-oriented individual to develop Expedia’s advertising division and establish its global media infrastructure. We are looking for a seasoned internet advertising professional who will be responsible for building Expedia’s “Branded Experiences” team. This role will focus on increasing Expedia’s penetration with agencies and advertisers who are interested in leveraging their brands online.
We are looking for a thought leader with a wealth of expertise in online advertising and technology as it relates to expressing a brand through any and all online channels. Expedia is investing heavily in the advertising business and we are looking for a strong leader to build and scale our advertising business.
Candidates must have an extensive background creating advertising products and rich media executions with an understanding of online/ offline success metrics. Ideal candidates must have a detailed background in 3rd party ad serving systems (e.g. DART, Atlas, etc.), rich media vendors, as well as 3rd party measurement systems (e.g. comScore, DynamicLogic, etc). Collaboration is a “must-have” and will be a critical part in contributing successfully to the team. Our Sr. Manager will be responsible growing a new line of business, as well as hiring and managing a growing team responsible for multi-million dollar products. A strong business background is an absolute must.
Responsibilities:
Thought leader in global online advertising, marketing and monetization
Partner with sales, finance, operations and other internal partners to craft product offering(s) and deploy flawlessly (i.e. plan, develop, release and manage products)
Build and manage a team accountable for executing strategy and initiatives associated with new/ existing ad products
Develop and monitor performance KPIs coupled with appropriate lines of business
Actively provide sales with support required to win new business
Evaluate internal/ external business opportunities requiring strategic agreements and technical implementation
Engage with engineering teams to plan and deploy products
Qualifications:
Experience working directly sales, advertising agencies, advertisers and other online sales channels
Proven ability to work with multiple internal organizations requiring clear communication, evangelism and compromise
Deep understanding of media buying/ planning cycles and Internet ad serving systems (Doubleclick, PointRoll, Omniture etc.)
Ability to successfully react and adapt to a rapidly growing online media environment
Strong individual contributor and manager
Work Experience and Education Guidelines:
8-10 years of relevant work experience in online advertising, business management and product development
5+ years of team management
MBA preferred (not required)
