Why You Want This Position: The Senior Product Manager provides end-to-end leadership for the creation of our new consumer-facing products, as well as lifecycle management for existing products. Acting as the Business Owner in an agile web development environment, the Senior Product Manager will be responsible for determining the product backlog (roadmap), defining market requirements, and participating daily in the agile team process. This person will act as product champion in a cross-functional team consisting of one or more project managers, information architects, designers, developers, and testers. The Senior Product Manager will ensure that products deliver on customer needs, are in-line with company objectives, and meet or exceed revenue expectations.
Job Requirements :
* Combine research with internal knowledge and competitive landscape to execute on product strategy and vision.
* Initiate & champion new product concepts based on corporate business strategy and vision.
* Manage product backlog (roadmap) and lifecycle. Set and communicate backlog priorities
* Set feature priorities and make trade-offs within a sprint based on feedback of the cross-functional team and business drivers.
* Create business requirements and work collaboratively with information architect and other key members of the design and development team to ensure that consumer needs and business needs are met
* Revenue responsibility for new products. Ensure that products deliver on internal/external commitments.
* Work with the Principal Business Analyst to ensure that financial models are in place and metrics are consistently reported post-launch.
* Work closely with business development and project managers to identify, assess, negotiate, and manage product vendor relationships.
* Act as cross-departmental liaison with ad sales, business development, marketing, privacy, and legal departments to determine product objectives, priorities, and promotion and secure enterprise approvals as needed.
* Responsible for go-to-market plan and execution, including follow-up work with marketing and PR.
Required Skills:
* 5- years in consumer web site product management or relevant strategic consulting
* Proven success driving innovative product offerings
* Proven experience with financial modeling and data-driven decision making
* Cross-functional team leadership experience
* Significant experience with MS Office, Visio, and basic image editing Preferred but not required:
* MBA
* Experience working in an agile environment
* Experience with consumer search
* Experience in a top 100 ad-sponsored site
* Experience with viral consumer services a plus Performance Skills:
* Exceptional ability to work across departments in an open and collaborative environment
* Excellent written and oral communications. Strong ability to influence peers and superiors
