JOB TITLE: Physician

JOB OVERVIEW: This is a clinical position requiring a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. This work involves both out patient and in patient medical care for the members of Community Health Care. This position requires a board certified primary care physician (Family Physician, General Internist, Obstetrician/Gynecologist, or Pediatrician). Primary functions are those of general primary care including preventive services, health maintenance, and in patient hospital care within the scope of the respective specialty. It is the desire of Community Health Care to provide continuous and comprehensive medical care to all low income patients. Therefore, clinics are organized around a family practice model and include care for pregnant as well as geriatric patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Maintain an active Washington Medical License and DEA Certification.
2. Maintain Board Certification.
3. Comply with Specialty Board Continuing Medical Education requirements.
4. Obtain and maintain admitting privileges at Community Health Care hospitals.
5. Provide full scope of preventive and ambulatory medical services within the scope of specialty.
6. Develop and participate in community, staff, and patient education.
7. Provide clinic services a minimum of 32 hours per week, 3800 patient encounters per year as directed by the Medical Director.
8. Share after hours call on a rotating basis as determined by the Medical Director.
9. Assist in developing quality assurance programs for the respective clinics.
10. Participate on various Community Health Care committees as requested by the Medical Director.
11. Compensation for medical services will be as specified in the employment contract.
12. Outside employment (Moonlighting) is not permitted without the written permission of the Medical Director.
13. Agree to comply with the policies and procedures of Community Health Care as determined by the Medical Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
MD or DO degree
Experience:
One year approved internship. Board Eligible or Board Certified in primary care specialty.
Licensure: Washington State Medical License

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Maintain CPR
2. Requires adherence to all policies, standards and procedures included in the Admin,
Clinical and HR Manuals and the agency Code of Conduct.
3. Attend clinic, Support Staff and All Staff meetings.
4. Participate in quality improvement, risk management and peer review projects as assigned
5. Work as a team with other staff for continuity and efficient, quality care
6. Must be eligible for standard risk medical malpractice insurance for family practice, including
obstetrical care.
