ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: |
This position is for 4 hours per day. This position patrols assigned District premises to protect District property and maintain a positive and safe environment. |
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: |
- Knowledge of security and safety practices and procedures; investigative techniques.
- Skills in oral and written communications; making effective and quick decisions; perceiving possible security breaches and taking appropriate action.
- Ability to accurately assess emergency situations; remain calm under pressure; respond calmly and quickly in dangerous situations; communicate security and safety procedures; deal with personnel in a warm and confident manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Patrols buildings and parking lots.
- Responds to emergencies and other security concerns; reports, detains or evicts unauthorized persons in accordance with District guidelines.
- Maintains a security patrol log, including records of persons or activities on District property encountered during patrol.
- Attends workshops and meetings related to assigned responsibilities.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: |
High school diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year experience as a security officer, police officer or in a closely-related field. One year of college coursework in law enforcement may substitute for one year of experience. |
EMPLOYMENT INFO / APPLY TO: |
Valid Washington State Driver’s license or evidence of mobility. Work may require incumbent to be outdoors in inclement weather. Incumbent is typically required to deal with violent and distraught people. |
