Job Description
MDI Group is recruiting for a Full-Time Database Administrator for our
client in Bellingham, WA. Must have experience with MS SQL or Oracle database.

Must be US Citizen or Greencard Holder. Client will not transfer H1b.

Summary:
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and performance tune databases on Sun UNIX,
Linux, and Windows based operating systems.

Responsibilities Include:
Work jointly with networking engineers to install, configure, troubleshoot,
and performance tune database connectivity.
Ensure uninterrupted database availability by managing physical and logical
space.
Measure growth and project for continued optimal performance and server
upgrades.
Participates in the development of standards, procedures, and resources that
standardize the functioning of the systems and software and in accordance with
company standards and industry best practices.
On-call responsibilities as required.

Skills Required:
Five years experience using and supporting hardware/software products.
3+ years experience with Oracle or MS SQL Database Administration, user
management, database security, database monitoring, backup and recovery,
Oracle Enterprise Manager, and SQL Server Management Studio.
2+ years experience with Windows, Sun Unix or Linux operating systems.
Strong security knowledge and ability for securing and maintaining data for
safety and to meet or exceed standards required by HIPAA, Sarbanes/Oxley and
other regulations.
Understanding of these technologies: Oracle RDMBS; 9i, 10g, and 11g, Oracle
RAC and Grid, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and Microsoft
Transact-SQL, Sun Unix, Linux, and Microsoft Windows operating systems and IIS
or Apache web server architecture.

Desired:
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or MCTS: SQL Server 2005 strongly desired.
