The E-Star Services group is building the next generation of web services that will open up our systems for creative and open technology reuse.  We are looking for a great Sr. Java Developer to contribute to a culture of open, creative solutions, and quickly build travel APIs for use in multiple applications and platforms.  If you are a world class engineer who loves to work independently and creatively to create software that scales to the largest travel system on the web, we want to talk to you. 


 


 


Responsibilities:


 


 


•         Design and write code for standards-based travel applications that scale to high-volume production quality.


 


•         Prototype creative solutions quickly, and be able to lead others in crafting and implementing your great technical vision.


 


•         Make a big difference by leveraging your strong background in Java programming, with an emphasis in server-side development and open source technologies.


 


•         Evangelize and lead across teams in the creation and consumption of open, standards-based solutions.


 


•         Work with our off-shore engineering team to support and accelerate service implementation and testing.


 


 


Qualifications:


 


 


•         7+ years relevant industry experience in object-oriented development roles.


 


•         BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related engineering field.


 


•         Expert level skills with at least three of the following technologies:  Java, SOAP, Rest, JMS and the Spring Framework.


 


•         A proven track record of delivering and operating large-sized internet-scale software systems.


 


•         Experience in working with or directing off-shore development teams.
