Senior Systems Engineer - Enterprise Operations
Core Deliverables and Responsibilities
Under direction, this position will be responsible for the implementation of highly-available systems, new technologies and effective monitoring solutions. Position performs daily maintenance and monitoring tasks, assists other groups by maintaining processes including security standards, patch management, and capacity planning. Also responsible for installing and configuring a wide array of system hardware and software. Position will interface with all areas of the company. Specifically:
Monitor and administer all systems
Provide Secondary support of Cisco networking environment.
Work with Business Strategists and Data Architecture Team to define infrastructure requirements, create accurate level of effort estimates and schedules.
Create and Maintain tools that simplify and automate Support tasks
Identify and troubleshoot systems and application performance issues.
Assist QA and Software Engineers in testing related code issues
Plan and execute preventative maintenance, including software and hardware patch management and implementation.
Capacity planning including equipment, software licenses, and related requirements and associated costs.
Lead or actively participate in change
and release management control mechanisms and change control processes for database modifications. , including a high availability production environment, backups, disaster recovery, VMware and EMC SAN environment.

5 years experience in administering and architecting SAN attached
Datacenter planning and design
Familiarity with SQL server administration and
related hardware tuning
Understanding and familiarity with version control, configuration management and bug tracking tools
Proficiency in complex troubleshooting techniques and problem diagnosis
Detail-oriented, flexible and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner possessing both good written and verbal skills
An inquisitive and tenacious nature; eager to learn and willing to drive innovation in both the development group as well as across the company
Experience with Scrum, Agile,and ITIL methodologies as well as SOX requirement awareness is a big plus.
Scripting and Powershell experience preferred
Position expected to have knowledge and hands on experience with Windows 2000/2003/2008, Active Directory Management, DNS, WINS, DFS, network security, PKI\Certificate Management, IIS 5/6, TCP/IP, and familiarity with HP/Compaq server hardware. Applicant must also have working knowledge of web technologies including: FTP, WWW, SMTP, and LDAP. Knowledge of: VMWare, Cisco, EMC, .NET, ASP, and other application server technology a significant plus. MCSE or equivalent in specific technologies preferred.
7 years minimum industry experience in similar role required.
