Description
To provide extensive technical knowledge and experience that services complex business objectives and applications in a distributed computing environment. Functioning both as a member of a team and as an individual contributor.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
* Deploy and release complex software packages into multiple environments and invoke the appropriate process according to established IT standards.
* Provide cross-platform support for multiple environments that host critical business applications.
* Provide user-experience monitoring, capacity metrics, and application performance analysis.
* Contribute technical designs, documentation, and run-books to an application’s operational library.
* Responsible for the release management process and participate in the change management process.
* Proactively monitor applications for rapid response to problems and potential outages.
* Document existing systems; provide troubleshooting steps, and software bug fixes.
* Responsible for service restoration and problem resolution in a service interruption incident.
* Handle incident response process as a final point of escalation for problem and incident resolution.
* Provides support for production and non-production application hosting environments.
* Assist database engineers with troubleshooting business application interruptions and incidents.
SKILLS AND ABILIITES
* Expert troubleshooting ability, root cause analysis, and production service restoration.
* Strong knowledge of network computing; client server, N-tier, and service oriented architectures.
* Tier III Support experience on supporting multiple platforms/applications
* Experience in using SQL Tools, IIS 6.0 Administration, Windows 2003
* Experience in troubleshooting and deploying Web, distributed and client-server architecture based applications
* Ability to quickly adapt and acquire knowledge on new Software tools and environment
* Self-Motivated and Process oriented
* Experience with interfacing with various roles within IT organization and the business community
Education and/or Training
* A Bachelor’s degree , or equivalent work experience and technical training, is required.
* Two to four years of experience in systems administration, networking, and programming.
Location: Seattle/SeaTac
Duration: 6 months with possible 6 month extension
