JOB SUMMARY:
Oversees day-to-day operations and staff of the Applications Department. Prioritizes workloads, manages resources, is accountable for department budget of the groups, and acts in a management role. Manages and ensures compliance with standard processes and methodologies. Works with other IT managers to develop policies and procedures and implement best practices. Serves as a key member of the IT management team, with responsibility to ensure high quality service to PMC employees, patients, and business partners.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A minimum of five years line experience managing applications staff.
• A minimum of five years of project and program management experience; must possess superior and complete project management skills.
• A minimum of five years line experience with department capital and operating budgets.
• Five years experience participating in and leading quality and work process efforts in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated experience developing customer service work processes in the area of Healthcare applications.
• A comprehensive understanding of applications including EMRs, ERPs, complex interfaces and application strategies in a Healthcare environment
• The ability to explain applications and technology to users in layman’s terms.
• Must possess superior customer service orientation; exhibit consistent, positive, and proactive interactions with all staff.
• Ability to negotiate, document and manage effective agreements with internal and external customers, vendors and partners
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with professional and non-professional staff representing diverse occupations, professions, needs and priorities.
• Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with EMR, preferably GE and Epic Healthcare systems and application software.
• Experience in a healthcare organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information technology or related field, MBA preferred.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Exceptional customer service focus, be comfortable operating through corporate processes, and able to deal with a complex customer environment in a controlled manner.
• Able to function with little or no day-to-day supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
• Ability to travel to all clinic locations as needed.
