Quality Assurance works with small project teams of Developers and Project Manager Analysts. This role is responsible for the functional, integration, data validation, backend and system testing of projects & enhancements. This role also influences product quality by contributing to analysis & design phases.

Job Duties
Individual Project Testing – 90%
• Evaluate product requirements and functional specifications in order to develop effective test cases and scenarios
• Provide premier Quality Assurance testing of assigned software products
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases & scenarios for projects
• Provide estimates & ETA’s of work efforts; provide testing status reports
• Document, report, track and troubleshoot defects found during testing, launch and product usage
• Work closely with project team (including customers, developers & project managers) to guarantee success
• Organize and direct business leads in general software UAT testing
• Confirm product is launch ready
• Support team members on large or critical projects

Launch Management – 10%
• Assist with managing workflow of all tasks involved with promotion of code and database changes through environments for a specifically assigned project
• Communicate status and schedule to all Devs, QA & PMA’s; work with QA Lead to coordinate promotions
• Provide weeknight and weekend launch support when needed

Team & Department Support – As needed
• Assist with initiatives to build QA and department processes
• Participate in prioritizing & scheduling meetings
• Participate in cross training, team building meetings

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in an organized software testing/development environment and in-depth knowledge of formal test methodologies and testing principles
• Sound working knowledge of QA concepts, principles, testing techniques and methodologies
• Experience creating test scripts, test cases, test plans and running regression tests
• Experience testing multiple categories: functional, deployment, performance/load, regression, system integration and BVT tests
• 1+ year testing in an n-tier internet based application (client, server, backend services, database)
• Experience as liaison between development staff and end-users; coordinating user testing
• Flexibility to take on functions and tasks outside of implied job description
• Working knowledge of databases (i.e. SQL Server). Must be able to run and use SQL queries
• Proficient in MS Windows environment
• Extremely high level of written communication skills; able to document ideas concisely and quickly
• Excellent verbal communication skills; able to articulate ideas clearly
• Ability to portray a positive attitude at all times; motivate and lead others
• Ability to interact with many different skill sets and roles within the company

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with a high level computer language (Java & D3/Pick preferred) in the creation or maintenance of test applications, test harnesses, and/or test frameworks (class or work projects) or experience running off-the-shelf test applications and automation suites (JUnit)
• In depth knowledge of MS-SQL and ability to understand and modify existing SQL test cases or creation of new SQL to meet test requirements
• Linux experience / Unix experience
• Web UI and web testing in conjunction with backend database testing
• Systems Analysis, Data Analysis, Development, Project Management & Leadership experience a plus
